Famous for its Tokays, Muscats and Ports, The Rutherglen region has been producing fine wines for over 150 years. Warm days and cool nights are perfect for producing excellent sparkling Shiraz, Marsanne and Riesling. This region also boasts some of the most full-bodied reds in Australia. At the foothills of the Victorian Alps this wine region is steeped in history and the architecture in the towns of Rutherglen and Beechworth is truly stunning. Locally caught Murray Cod, cheese, lamb and olives and bread are just some of the regions abundant produce available for you to enjoy.
During the day we will visit 4-5 of the Rutherglen regions finest wineries which may include All Saints Estate, Anderson Winery, R Buller & Son, Campbell’s Winery, Chambers Rosewood Winery, Cofield Wines, Drinkmoor Wines, Fairfield Vineyard, Gehrig Estate Wines, Joes Winery & Vineyard, Lake Moodemere Vineyards, Morris Wines, Mt Prior Vineyard, Pfeiffer Wines, Rutherglen Estates, Stanton and Killeen Wines, St Leonard Vineyard, Sutherland Smith Wines, Warrabilla Wines, Watchbox Wines.
